Explanation
The exchange rate for converting transactions from foreign to domestic currency when paying or withdrawing at an ATM abroad offers you an insight into the total costs of currency conversion or the mark-up to the reference rate of the European Central Bank (ECB) for card transactions where currency conversion is carried out from the currency of any an EEA member state that is not in the euro area.
Notes
The calculation is of an informative nature, as the amount of the surcharge may change due to changes in the applicable exchange rates when the payment transaction is approved and calculated.
When making a purchase at a point of sale or withdrawing cash from an ATM with a card in a currency other than EUR, payment of the obligation or withdrawal will be made in EUR. Conversion from foreign currency to EUR is done according to the reference exchange rate of the Visa and Mastercard card systems.
The bank does not charge additional fees for currency conversion.
The specified exchange rates are used by the card issuer. If the currency exchange is carried out by a merchant at a POS terminal or an ATM service provider, the stated exchange rates may not apply. We advise you to familiarize yourself with the exchange rate and possible surcharges before approving a payment transaction through currency conversion on a payment device. This usually occurs when the payment is made in the currency of the cardholder and not in the currency of the merchant or ATM owner.
